This weekend during The Big Potluck we had a chance to share our recipe for what we believe to be one of the best whiskey sour recipes ever. No, that doesn’t really sound too humble but seriously- wait until you taste it and then decide for yourself whether it makes your top 5 whiskey sour’s list.
We had a lot of fun demonstrating the cocktail for the attendees of this foodie retreat/conference and then getting to drink it with everyone during Saturday’s super crazy fun party. There were some kindled, bourbon-drinking spirits there, which made the night that much more fun.
Here’s the recipe for the cocktail, and then click here for the recipe and steps for the homemade maraschino cherries.
Whiskey Sour Cocktail Recipe
1.5 ounces* bourbon whiskey (we used Angel’s Envy)
3 ounces homemade sweet & sour mix (click here for a quick video)
1 or more homemade maraschino cherries
*2-2.5 ounces is just dandy too
Homemade Sweet & Sour Mix
1 cup lemon & lime juice
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
Don’t forget that you can make this mix to your liking by adding more water, less sugar, or more limes than lemons. Whatever makes you happy!
