When it's February and freezing, I crave gut warming whiskey coupled with spice. This cocktail is light, refreshing and captures some popular winter fruits: pear and cranberry. Try substituting your favorite spirit for the whiskey or add a cinnamon stick if you're really feeling daring. You might also enjoy it shaken with ice and strained into a martini glass. Enjoy!
2 ounces clear corn whiskey
1 ounce spiced cranberry cider
1/4 cup chopped pear
Pinch of ground cloves
Directions: Muddle the pear and whiskey in a martini shaker. Add the cider and cloves until all the ingredients are mixed well. Strain over ice in a low ball and serve.
