Batch Drinks: Cucumber, Orange, Lime & Vodka Cocktail

Once this batch of amazingness is complete, the finished product may remind you of those large refreshing canisters you see at the spa that are filled with water, cucumbers, and a variety of citrus. Swap the water for some vodka and make this refreshing cocktail for your next summer gathering. No white bathrobes or slippers needed. You'll need to allow yourself enough time to muddle the cucumbers, limes, and oranges, but once you make that "juice," you can set it aside for use closer to when your party begins.

Cucumber lime orange

Spa Citrus Cocktail (serves 4-6) 2 cucumbers (1 for muddling, 1 for garnish) 2 oranges (1 for muddling, 1 for garnish) 4 limes (2 for juicing, 2 for garnish) 2 cups vodka (or more) ½ cup fresh or store-bought orange juice ¼ cup sugar (optional)

Directions Peel the cucumber and slice thinly. Combine it in a bowl or measuring pitcher with the peeled orange (the rind makes it bitter so remove that). Muddle these two ingredients until a juice begins to collect. Strain the juice through a strainer, pressing the cucumber and orange pieces to force out extra juice. Pour this juice into a pitcher, add the juice of fresh limes (about 2 ounces), add the vodka, and add the orange juice. Mix it well and if you'd like it to be sweeter, add some granulated sugar or simple syrup. At this point you can refrigerate your amazing creation, and add the garnishes later, or if your company is about to arrive, slice up your garnishes and drop them in now.
