Some of the best aspects of fall are the aromas that fill your kitchen when you're preparing meals and beverages for autumn entertaining. As soon as September hits, our Sunday batches of simple syrups switch from summer fruits and herbs to spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and anise that may be used year round but that feel especially right when the leaves start to change and the days begin to darken a little sooner each afternoon. Every week we'll share a new recipe for a delicious fall cocktail for you to make at your next party.
Cinnamon Blueberry Rum Cocktail 1.5 ounces rum ¼ cup blueberries ½ ounce cinnamon simple syrup
Directions: Muddle the cup of blueberries with the rum until a mildly blue liquid forms. Strain the rum blueberry juice into a shaker and add the cinnamon simple syrup and ice. Shake well to evenly distribute the cinnamon simple syrup, then strain into a martini glass or a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a few blueberries.
