Mixology 101: Lemon Plum Simple Syrup

ICON_Mixology101On Sunday during our regular simple syrup batch making, we made five syrups for the week. One of them was a lemon plum simple syrup, which we've already used in quite a few cocktails (nevermind that it's only Tuesday). You'll need to remove the rind if you don't want a slightly bitter taste, otherwise, just add little more sugar to counter it. We kept the rinds on this time, added extra sugar, and cooked it for 20 extra minutes. Lemon Plum Simple Syrup

Directions Quarter a lemon and two plums and add them to a pan with 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Boil for about twenty minutes, then simmer for another twenty. Remove from the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool. Filter out the fruit and store the lemon plum simple syrup in your fridge for 7-10 days.

Over the next few days we'll be sharing a few recipes using this simple syrup that you'll just love. The color of the cocktails is gorgeous and the food pairing options are infinite. Stay tuned!
