About This Girl

THIS GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR was founded in 2010 by SoCal sisters Jordan Catapano and Jocelyn Dunn Muhlbach. It all began with a rainy, slow, five-hour drive from Los Angeles to Palm Desert for a girl’s weekend. Stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic in a torrential downpour somewhere along the 10 freeway they realized that the title for their first book was definitely not working and renamed it This Girl Walks Into a Bar. Proof that it’s all in a name, the skies cleared, the book was published, and a brand was born.

They started a blog to support the debut of the book, won Saveur Magazine’s Best Cocktail Blog Award, and began collaborating with companies like Bolthouse Farms, BevMo!, Dole Foods, Dry Soda, Tabasco, Gallo Wine, and Patrón Tequila to develop cocktail recipes. Their next books, This Girl Minds Her P’s & Q’s: An Etiquette Handbook for Dinner Parties, Restaurants, and Bars, and Cocktails for Cougars and Cowgirls: Simple and Delicious Recipes for Every Woman soon followed, paving the way for a growing enterprise.

In 2016 they launched their bartending services division in Los Angeles with the intention of providing the best bartenders available. Known for their work ethic, professionalism, and friendliness, their staff has mixed drinks for every type and size of event, ranging from exclusive dinner parties to thousand-person galas. The company is 100% female-owned and operated with about 100 employees and growing!

Be sure to visit their sister company, THIS GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR: MIXERS + SNACKS, offering the tastiest Margarita and Bloody Mary mixes around.
